Often we don’t think about having a roof replaced, were just happy with the roof we have. However it does protect all of your belongings your property so it really needs to be looked after.
There is no exact number on when or how many years you should have your roof replaced it really depends on the present quality of your roof. Are there any cracks or dents, is it rusting are there any leaks…all of these things need to be considered. So if you are not sure about your roof it would be worth getting a roof inspection so that then you know whether it needs replacing or not.
If you want to know how long it will take to have a roof replacement done – it could take anywhere from 3 to possibly 10 days, but it will depend on the roof, the style, the weather etc. The best thing is to talk to your roofing contractor and they will be able to give you a good idea as to how long it will take.
Whether you get a roof replacement or not – how can you best look after your roof?
To get the best out of your roof it would help to firstly get your cut gutters cleaned out at least every six months or so. It will depend on the area that you live in, for example, if you live in an area where there are a lot of large trees, then you may need may need it done at least every six months or more often. If you live in an area where there is not a lot of trees you may be able to go longer.
Another thing you can do is look over your roof from time to time and check for damage and then if there is damage give your roof plumber a call and see what it will take to get those things fixed.
If your roof has rust it would also be worth talking to your local roof plumber to see what you can do to resolve this.
You might think that doing small repairs is a waste of money, however, in the long run it can save you a lot of money and your roof will last for a lot longer
